Annuity Plan
Effective August 1, 2021 Prudential will become the administrator of the SERP Plan for employees of Westin Hotel Company under group annuity contract number GR=4704, issued by Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CGLIC) and re-insured by Prudential Retirement Insurance and Annuity Company (Prudential).

UPDATE11/27/24
Direct deposits for December received todayUPDATE 11/25/24 The remaining retiree whose issues had not been resolved, has had direct contact from Marriott assuring him that it has now been resolved. UPDATE 11/21/24 Marriott has advised that checks to retirees dated 11/6/24 should be shredded, as each is to receive a direct deposit to their accounts for the November payment that should have been made at the end of October. UPDATE 11/18/24 We indicated to Marriott that our expectation is that those effected by Fidelity's monumental cock-up will receive an apology from Fidelity, to which they agreed. UPDATE 11/5/24 Marriott advised that there were 40 retirees whose payment did not go through correctly on direct deposit. 15 retirees had there deposit sent to a closed bank account. 25 received checks instead of direct deposit. Fidelity was using the account numbers used by Starwood rather than the current information used by Northern Trust. We were assured that Fidelity now has the correct information and the November deposit should be made correctly.
UPDATE11/1/24 Unfortunately, the Fidelity Service Center was incorrect when they mentioned you have to be logged into NetBenefits. That is not accurate. The account is listed in Fidelity’s system as the “Marriott Frozen Legacy non-qualified plan”, but the representatives should be able to locate the accounts by name or SSN and they should also be aware the plan may be referenced as “Westin SERP”, “SERP”, “Pension”, etc. (Marriott) IMPORTANT CHANGES for COVERED RETIREESSeptember 18, 2024Marriott is transitioning the administration of all retirement plans to Fidelity Investments in October 2024, including the Westin SERP. A communication will be mailed to Westin SERP participants this week with the transition details.
Blackout Period
- The final payment from mHUB/Northern Trust will be issued on September 30, 2024 (business as usual).
- While the accounts are transitioning to Fidelity, there will be a blackout period from September 25, 2024 to October 18, 2024. During this period, the Service Center will not be able to access information for the Westin SERP accounts.
- Once the blackout period has ended, the Fidelity Benefits Service Center will be able to access the Westin SERP accounts.

Account Information/Tax Withholding
- Gross payments, account details, including direct deposit information, will transition to Fidelity
- Current Federal withholding and FICA (as applicable) will continue to be the same following the transition
- CHANGE: Beginning with the October 2024 payment, state withholding will be determined using the state wage withholding tables
- CHANGE: Beginning with the October 2024 payment, the benefit will be issued the last week of each month (this means payments will be received earlier than the current last business day of the month.
Tax Forms
- Northern Trust will issue a 2024 tax form for January to September payments and Fidelity will issue a 2024 tax form for October to December payments
- Marriott will issue tax forms for FICA for October 2024 payments and beyond
